Mardi Gras is Returning Bigger and Better Than Ever!

This spring, Guests will be able to experience a fan-favorite’ Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval – running daily February 4 through April 16, 2023 at Universal Studios Florida.
​

This parkwide celebration will transform Universal Studios Florida into Florida’s biggest party, complete with dishes inspired by Carnaval celebrations from New Orleans to Brazil to Belgium and more. Guests will also be able partake in a lively parade filled with vibrant floats where partygoers can catch beads by the handful. On select nights, guests can cap the festivities with live concerts by top names in music.
Access to Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval is included with regular admission to Universal Studios Florida. More details about the event – including the concert lineup and dates, the delicious selection of food and beverage guests can sample, and the spectacular parade theme – “MYTHICAL REALMS OF MARDI GRAS”

Universal Orlando Resort invites guests to go beyond the bayou and let the good times roll from February 4 through April 16, 2023 with the return of Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval – featuring a dazzling Mardi Gras parade, mouthwatering cuisine inspired by global Carnaval celebrations and, on select nights, live concerts by top names in music like Goo Goo Dolls, Maren Morris and Sean Paul – all included with regular theme park admission to Universal Studios Florida.

Mardi Gras Parade Theme
Mythical Realms of Mardi Gras theme inspired by fantastical creatures like dragons, phoenixes, unicorns and more – with a Mardi Gras twist. This year’s imaginative theme will be brought to life within six incredibly detailed and festive parade floats that will join Universal’s traditional lineup of New Orleans-inspired floats – such as the iconic, two-story Riverboat and nearly 50-foot-long King Gator.
  • Parade starts at 6:15 pm on the following dates:
    • February 5 - 9, 12 - 16
    • February 26 - March 2
  • Parade starts at 7:30 pm on the following dates:
    • February 17, 20 – 24
    • March 3, March 6 – April 16
  • Parade starts at 7:45 pm on the following dates:
    • February 4, 10, 11, 18, 19
    • March 4, 5
  • There is no parade on March 31, 2023.

2023 Mardi Gras Ride and Dine
In 2023 Guests can take their Mardi Gras experience to the next level. Running  from February 4 through April 16, 2023, Guest guests can enjoy a 3-course meal with selections from the full menu at one of four participating restaurants – The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar, NBC Sports Grill and Brew, Finnegan’s Bar and Grill or Lombard’s Seafood Grille.After Guest will then head to Universal Studios Florida to toss beads from one of the dazzling parade floats.

The Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience includes one (1) appetizer, one (1) entrée, one (1) dessert and one (1) non-alcoholic beverage for $64.99 plus tax, per person, as well as one (1) Mardi Gras parade float rider reservation on the same day. In addition, brass bands straight from Bourbon Street in New Orleans perform daily throughout the park. They bring the soulful sounds of New Orleans to Universal Studios Florida. As the beat of the music makes you move your feet, you can grab a bite to eat made by Universal's award-winning chefs. This year's Mardi Gras celebration jad an array of delicious culinary delicacies inspired by various locations around the globe. Guests can go on an international culinary journey with dishes like the Crawfish Boil and melt-in-your-mouth Beignets from New Orleans, Shrimp Ceviche Tostada from Mexico, a Mofongo Flight inspired by the Carnaval Ponceño in Puerto Rico, Indonesian Black Coconut Rice Pudding with Mango and so much more.

​Plus, for the first time ever, Universal Orlando’s other theme parks are joining the fun by featuring a limited selection of Mardi Gras items, including Gumbo, Jambalaya, King Cake and more at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and the Muffuletta Long Board Pizza at Universal’s Volcano Bay.

During 2022, Universal did not offer the Mardi Gras Tasting Lanyard, which was popular during 2020 and 2021. However, the Tasting Lanyards from 2021 was honored during this year's event. In addition, this year, a "Mardi Gras Food and Beverage" card will be available for purchase in the park during the event. For example, if you purchase a $65 "Universal Orlando Food and Beverage Card," you receive $75 or $120 for $150 (exclusive to passholders). There is no limit on the quantity for purchase. There's good news though. Premier and Preferred Passholders will their respective discounts with valid Annual Pass on Food and beverage (excluding alcohol) when paying with their Food and Beverage Card at Mardi Gras kiosks and at all Universal Orlando owned and operated restaurants and carts.

Universal Orlando Resort Food and Beverage Card at any food and beverage location in Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal's Volcano Bay, and Universal CityWalk.
2023 Mardi Gras Tribute Store
Located within an all-new space in the Hollywood area of Universal Studios Florida, this year’s Mardi Gras Tribute Store invites guests to an international jazz celebration that leads to the traditional alleyways of New Orleans and ultimately into a speakeasy where the Mardi Gras celebration continues. Within the new store, guests can shop a new selection of Mardi Gras merchandise that ranges from apparel to accessories and collectibles such as keychains, pins, themed glasses and even some personalized options – allowing them to take a piece of Florida’s Biggest Party home with them. Guests can also devour tasty treats inspired by this year’s celebration within the new retail location.

Guests can keep the party going at Universal CityWalk with special Mardi Gras festivities at select venues along with food kiosks featuring delicious menu items that offer a taste of the Mediterranean, the Islands and popular Mardi Gras fare. Pat O’Brien’s will host a Mardi Gras After Party on select nights from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. that includes live entertainment and exclusive food and drink offerings; as well as a special Fat Tuesday celebration on February 21 from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. featuring a dueling piano and more. Reservations for the festivities at Pat O’Brien’s can be made by calling 407-224-3663. Plus, the Red Coconut Club will transform for the Mardi Gras season into the Cursed Coconut Club – more details and dates of operation will be shared soon.​
