Carmen Smith, Senior Vice President of Creative Development - Product/Content & Inclusive Strategies, shares an exciting update about the upcoming attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure. During their recent trip to New Orleans, Carmen and her fellow Imagineers had the privilege of participating in recording sessions for the attraction's music. The fantastic news is that award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard are collaborating on the musical score, creating a lyrical love letter to the region that first inspired Princess Tiana's journey. PJ Morton, an accomplished four-time Grammy-winner, is composing an original song for the attraction and arranging and producing new renditions of beloved music from "The Princess and the Frog." Terence Blanchard, a renowned trumpeter and seven-time Grammy award winner, is spearheading the music arrangement for the attraction's queue, selecting songs from the film and iconic themes from New Orleans.
To further enhance the creative process, Imagineers commissioned local artist Sharika Mahdi to contribute her unique perspective. Sharika's vibrant paintings capture the essence of Tiana's story, emphasizing the importance of family, food, and music. These pieces serve as inspiration and celebration of the key themes in Tiana's journey. Although the project team has returned to the Imagineering campus, the progress on Tiana's Bayou Adventure continues with immense pride and passion. The highly anticipated attraction is set to open at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort next year, and Carmen Smith and her team are eagerly looking forward to welcoming guests to experience the magic and charm of Tiana's world. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting journey of Tiana's Bayou Adventure. |
