We're inching closer to the end of the holiday season at Universal Orlando Resort. As we do, we've prepared a list of must-try treats during your next holiday visit. Here is our list from eight to one of what to try this holiday season.
Cookie Butter Crepe
At Central Park Crepes, the Cinnamon Cookie Butter Crepe contains shortbread cookie mascarpone filling, cinnamon whipped topping, and topped with a shortbread cookie. The crepe is pretty sweet, so make sure you bring a friend to share it with. Unfortunately, not everyone in our group enjoyed the shortbread cookie mascarpone. Some group members thought it was not enjoyable when you're getting to the last few bites of this crepe.
Vegan Sausage and Peppers
The Sausage and Peppers are made with grilled vegan Italian sausage, marinara, green peppers, onions, and vegan shredded cheese. This can be found across from Universal's Classic Monsters Cafe. Be sure to hit the vegan category in the blog to see all the other vegan options available a tUniversal Orlando
Eggnog
Beware, parents, this is not your family-friendly eggnog. Instead, these nogs are made with Bacardi, bourbon, and whisky. When first looking at the price, we weren't sure if this was worth 14.50. However,we were pleased with the portion size after receiving it. In addition, the Eggnog is housemade and chilled with ice. This will stay cool as you stroll through Citywalk or Universal Studios Florida.
Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich
Next, we have the Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich. These gingerbread cookies have a buttercream filling in between each other and some red and green sprinkles to top it off. This cookie sandwich has spice to it that is paired well with the buttercream frosting. This can be found in the Tribute Store, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen, and most bakeries around the property.
VBLT
The VBLT is made with smoked tempeh bacon. Tempeh is a good protein substitute because it takes on the flavor of sauces that you cook it with. The smoked tempeh bacon sits on a cranberry loaf with Divina tomatoes, arugula, vegan pepper jack cheese, and tomato aioli. The VBLT can be found across from Mel's Drive-In.
Grinch Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
The Grinch Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich is made with two green crinkle cookies and a slab of ice cream in the middle. This combination of cookie and ice cream will help cool anyone down during some warm Florida weather. Also, this treat might help cool your mouth down after having our next item on this holiday list.
Nashville Hot Chicken Mac & Cheese
The Nashville Hot Chicken Mac & Cheese takes chicken strips, covers them in Nashville Hot sauce, and places them on creamy white cheddar mac & cheese. These may be found at a food truck located in San Francisco. This menu item costs $10.99.
Roast Beast Sandwich.
The Grinch's favorite Who-liday meal, the Roast Beast tops our list.Menu description reads: French Onion soup dipped roast beef, meatloaf, secret sauce, cheddar cheese sauce on a pretzel bun, with a mini meatloaf sandwich on top. This can be purchased as a platter(with fires)for $15.99 or a combo(fries and salad) for $18.79. Though kinda expensive, the meal is pretty filling and definitely delicious. If you can catch Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous when it's open, put this at the top of your list.
Update: The Holiday Turkey Crepe has dicontinued for the 2021 season.
