Universal Orlando's CityWalk is a vibrant hub of dining and entertainment, offering a variety of experiences for visitors. Over the years, several restaurants have come and gone, each leaving its mark on the culinary landscape of this lively destination. Let's take a look at some of the closed restaurants of Universal Orlando's CityWalk and reminisce about the flavors and memories they once provided.
Pastamore, once a haven for exceptional Italian cuisine, has since transformed into Red Oven Pizza Bakery and Vivo Italian Kitchen. Whether guests chose the contemporary family-style eatery or the al fresco experience in the Marketplace café, Pastamore offered a delightful culinary journey. Although its doors closed in 2013, Universal Orlando's CityWalk continues to serve Italian delights with its new Italian dining destinations. Those with a sweet tooth may remember TCBY, a popular frozen yogurt chain that once delighted guests with its variety of frozen yogurt options. While TCBY is no longer a part of CityWalk since its closure in 2014, the space has been taken over by Menchie's® Frozen Yogurt, ensuring that guests can still satisfy their frozen treat cravings. The Galaxy Bar, once a beloved location for specialty cocktails and beer enthusiasts, closed its doors in 2014. Today, the Hot Dog Hall of Fame occupies the space, serving up classic and gourmet hot dog creations.
Emeril's, created by the renowned chef Emeril Lagasse, brought sophisticated cuisine and his signature "kick it up a notch" flair to CityWalk. Sadly, Emeril's bid farewell in 2018, but its legacy lives on with Bigfire American Fare, which offers a rustic yet refined dining experience. Lastly, Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar, an outdoor counter-service restaurant known for its sushi and Japanese dishes, bid adieu in 2021. Taking its place is Bend the Bao, a haven for Asian-inspired flavors. These closed restaurants hold a special place in the hearts of CityWalk visitors, each contributing to the diverse culinary landscape that makes Universal Orlando's CityWalk a unique destination. While these establishments are no longer operational, their spirit lives on through the exciting transformations and new dining experiences that have taken their place.
