Sinfully-Delicious Treats for HHN31

8/31/2022

Comments

Universal Orlando Resort has cooked up a "killer" menu this fall featuring more than 75 items. This year's food is inspired by the season by the horrifying lineup of terror guests will brave at Halloween Horror Nights 2022. Guests will be able to sink their teeth into some new treats and fan favorites. Guest will also be able to find some tasty offerings with a horrifying twist at select CityWalk locations. Universal Orlando's award-winning executive chefs and culinary team have delivered the most expansive selection in Halloween Horror Nights history this year.
As Guests navigate this year's event, they will be able to try highlights like "Save Your Tears," a signature cocktail inspired by "The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare," the "Maggot Covered Cheese Dog" inspired by the "Bugs: Eaten Alive" original haunted house, and Halloween Horror Nights staples like Pizza Fries, Twisted Taters and more.

Guide to Horror Nights: Part Two

8/29/2022

Comments

Grab your flashlights and trick or treat bags cause it's time to get spooky. With Halloween Horror Nights less than seven days away, we'll discuss the “need-to-knows” for the event.
1. Buy your tickets in advance. One overlook detail that most Guest seems to miss when purchasing products online is that it can take 24 hours to process. That means if you purchase your ticket online while walking in from CityWalk, you may not have a ticket by the time you reach the gate. Here's our recommendation to entering into the park with no issues. First, Guest should purchase their admission tickets online. This will save them from paying at-gate pricing, which can be up to $25 more expensive than the online price. It also keeps you out of the long lines of other people buying tickets. Secondly, you want to make you purchase your tickets 24 hours before your visit. This ensures that your tickets have been sent to you by email, or you can call Universal if you may have selected the wrong date to fix the issue. Thirdly, make sure you have picked the correct date before purchasing your tickets. The amount of people we see waiting in line at Guest Services because they picked the wrong Thursday is unbelievable. Pro Tip- Make sure you use the Universal Orlando website, not the Hollywood site when purchasing your HHN products.

During the cancellation of Halloween Horror Nights in 2020, the spooky mixologists at Universal created some spooky cocktails to help us all cope with such a  mental monumental loss. Today we share one of their recipes from their HHNForever series. This is the Chance Cocktail, inspired by the Jack the Clowns head Maniac.

Pumpkin Spiced Log Cake from Loews Royal Pacific Resort

8/25/2022

Comments

Just like me, Michelle Westfall enjoys pumpkin spice. So Westfall was kind enough to share the recipe for the Pumpkins Spiced Log Cake from Loews Pacific Resort. And, of course, I had to add it to my list of Universal Recipes when I'm trying to impress at a dinner party. So I will share the recipe with you so you can add it to your recipe book. Then, be sure to share with me what you thought of it. Happy spooky season!

Mini Pumpkin Donuts from HHN 29

8/23/2022

Comments

One of the things that kept me coming back to suffer through the terror of Halloween Horror Nights during HHN 29 was Merrill's Mini Pumpkin Donuts. These sweet little dough balls were absolutely delicious, and I'm begging Universal to bring them back one more year. Until then, we have the recipe for them, so you can try to make them. Have fun and let me know what you think.

We Tried All The Doughnuts At  Voodoo Doughnuts

6/3/2022

Comments

Slightly over four years ago, a Portland based doughnut shop, opened a location at Universal Orlando CityWalk. This themed doughnut place already had a location at Universal Studios Hollywood. This doughnut place, Voodoo Doughnuts, quickly fit in nicely at Universal Orlando Resort. The queues for these doughnuts can grow long depending on time of day. In recent months, a separate mobile order pickup area was designed for guests.

Currently, Voodoo Doughnut sells over fifty different types of doughnuts. Thirteen of those doughnuts classify as vegan doughnuts. As a result of this place, a strange idea developed in the minds of the Universal Food Blog team. What would it be like to eat most of these doughnuts at Voodoo Doughnuts all at once?
