Multiple exciting announcements arrived for theme park fans from Walt Disney World, including the TRON Lightcycle Run opening date at Magic Kingdom (April 4, 2023) as well as the return of the “Happily Ever After” (April 3, 2023) Let's dive into all the latest information about Walt Disney World. Join us as we look at a few changes Disney has made to improve the guest experience. The attraction will be one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world. Guests will join Team Blue and battle against the Grid’s menacing Programs, Team Orange. Your goal is to race through eight Energy Gates to secure victory. Participants should prepare because the race starts on April 4, 2023. The story of TRON Lightcycle / Run picks up after “TRON: Legacy (2010)” where Kevin’s son, Sam Flynn, has opened a second gateway into a digital realm called the Grid. The first of these portals he created is found at Shanghai Disneyland with the original TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Before the attraction officially opens, cast members will be the first to enter the Grid during special previews. There will also be preview opportunities for Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members. Complimentary Self-Parking When Staying at a Disney Resort Hotel I love staying at the Walt Disney World resort hotels, but ever since they started charging for parking at the hotels, I found myself visiting less and less. For me, this change felt like a boxer’s blow. I enjoyed visiting locations like Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. However, this is good news of great joy for all. Effective immediately, overnight self-parking will again be offered complimentary to guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. If you need a refresh, Disney Resort hotel guests also receive complimentary standard parking at Walt Disney World theme parks, daily early theme park entry (with valid admission and a park reservation), and complimentary on-site transportation options such as buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner. Relaxed Walt Disney World Annual Passholders Reservations Beginning in the coming months, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation. Guests will be able to enjoy more spontaneous visits to their favorite parks. Passholders will also receive access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and one complimentary Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience (age restrictions apply). Visit Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories and Disney PhotoPass Lenses for more details, Attraction Photos Included with Disney Genie+ Service ![]() Also, within the next few months, guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos, taken in the park on the day of their Disney Genie + purchase, at no additional charge. Attraction photos are taken in the parks at over a dozen of the most popular attractions, including Space Mountain, Slinky Dog Dash, Test Track, and Expedition Everest. |
