This week we spent most of our time in Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventures with the Grinch and the Whos of Whoville. With less than a month until Christmas, the Whos are excited to share Holiday Punch and Roast Beast with all their visitors. Of course, being a food blog, we're happy to try those offerings. So, here are our top three mentions for the week of 12/04/21.
The Holiday Punch is a blend of fruit flavors, including pineapple and apple juice, creating this festive kid-friendly holiday drink. This is a refreshing drink to grab on those warm December days when the weather in Seuss Landing is not as cool as you expected. The whipped cream sugar rim on the cup nicely balances out the pineapple juice for this delightful drink.
Next, we make our way to Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous. There, Grandpa works hard preparing the Roast Beast. Believe me, you'll definitely want a piece. Let me start out by saying this sandwich is messy, so grab extra napkins. This roast beef is drowned in French onion soup, squirted with their "secret sauce," then covered in a cheddar cheese sauce. After that, the beef resides within a pretzel bun with a mini meatloaf sandwich on top. You have the option to purchase it as a platter with seasoned fries or as a combo with fries and a side salad. We ordered the combo and we were full before finishing the sandwich. This is the best savory option we've had for the holidays at Universal. So, make sure you find your way to Islands of Adventure to try this sandwich before it's gone.
Lastly, we make our way to the Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida. Inside, you'll find both the chocolate and red velvet cake in-a-jar options from Earl the Squirrel's Christmas Curious Museum and Emporium. Universal is offering these as a BOGO deal at the time of publishing this article. These are great treats to take back to your room for a late-night treat. I purchased both of these a day before Thanksgiving. Luke and I enjoyed these as we recorded Universal Food Blog: The Podcast, (Ep.27) Halloween Horror Nights Wrap-up. Luke enjoyed the chocolate cake while I ate the red velvet cake. There will be more red velvet in my future.
As the Whos would say, Happy Who-lidays! We'll be back next week with another top three mentions for your stomachs to crave until your next Universal visit. You can listen to Universal Food Blog: The Podcast, (Ep.27) Halloween Horror Nights Wrap-up now on Spotify or your favorite streaming platform now. Ohh, and don't forget to vote for Martha May as Decorator of The Year. â
