Most sources indicated that Walt Disney World Resort would be phasing out its food trucks at Disney Springs. One rumor involves the idea that Walt Disney World desires to move its own food trucks into the theme parks. This process has been happening slowly for some time. However, even though no official announcements from Walt Disney World have been made, common expectations involved the Disney-owned food trucks leaving Disney Springs. This process involves third-party food trucks arriving to fill that gap in terms of dining options at Disney Springs. In recent years, the 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck and the Local Green Orlando Food Truck have become commonplace at Disney Springs. On June 21, the Cilantro Urban Pantry Food Truck appeared in the Westside area of Disney Springs. On the evening of June 22, this food truck opened for business at Disney Springs. Cilantro Urban Eatery The Cilantro Urban Eatery Food Truck has sold its “Latin Kitchen” cuisine at Disney Springs and other Wali Disney World locations on previous occasions for short-term operation. This food truck business went through a type of testing period recently before earning its permanent location at the Exposition Park area near Starbucks. As the name indicates, the menu features the menu item of cilantro. To some people, cilantro tastes like soap. For those people, this new-ish food truck will not be a great choice. Yet, for the rest of us, this food truck shows promise. During our dining experience, we did not taste any overpowering cilantro flavors, though, for those of you concerned. The Cilantro Urban Eatery menu looks like this: Bottled sodas – $5 Dasani bottled water – $4 Operating Hours and Basic Procedures for Cilantro Urban Eatery The food trucks at Disney Springs are open on Mondays through Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. On Fridays, the food trucks at Disney Springs open at 3:00 p.m. Still, on weekends, the food trucks open at noon. They tend to stay open until 10:00 p.m. The food truck may stay open later during weekends and in special circumstances. Cilantro Urban Eatery takes cash or credit/debit cards. However, it does not accept Disney gift cards. Opening Night Cilantro Urban Eatery opened for business as a permanent part of the food truck location at Disney Springs on June 22. That opening evening involved significant rain for the first few hours of sales at this food truck. This slowed down business some. However, things picked up as the night went on. The staff at this food truck showed enthusiasm. The normal opening night glitches happened but nothing major for an opening at Disney Springs. Due to sales numbers, the food truck did run out of certain items at the end of the evening. On night two, some menu items also sold out. Guests should plan accordingly if visiting on a busy evening, ![]() The Food at Cilantro Urban Eatery We have ordered all the items at Cilantro Urban Eatery with this version of the menu. We found the food quality very high for quick service. The cilantro-avocado mayo offers a reasonable flavor overall. Nevertheless, guests expecting some powerful spicy flavors like Tex-Mex cuisine will be disappointed. This style of Latin gastronomy focuses on good quality ingredients and less on spice. For example, we felt the Puerto-rrito presents guests with a unique quick-service dining option elevating the traditional idea of a burrito. Some of our colleagues enjoyed this one opening night. They expressed how much better this burrito was than common quick service burritos on Walt Disney World property. However, the Chicken Tostadas impressed us the most. The combination of ingredients merges into a flavorful experience that most guests will enjoy. The sauces, pickled red onions, and chicken create a wonderful combination. Cilantro Urban Eatery provides Disney Springs guests with another option for dining. This less traditional style theme park resort quick service menu should appeal to many guests visiting Disney Springs. We wish Cilantro Urban Eatery good luck with this new endeavor. As always, eat like you mean it!
